The Witch of Almand Woods
I’ve spent a lot of time hiking this summer (it feels like one of the few things people can really do these days). I started thinking on one hike about how it would be so easy to get lost if I stopped paying attention and then thought about how wild it would be if the trees tried to trap me there. Eventually, that thought blossomed into a character and this is an attempt at putting that character on paper. Enjoy!

The End of Captain Juliet
A few days ago, my friend Laurel told me about a dream that she had. The premise, she explained, had something to do with pirates in the time of Les Mis. One specific visual she had was of a woman tied to a burning ship. I couldn’t possibly turn up that kind of visual without giving this woman some kind of story. I set myself to telling this character’s story and was very excited about what came from it. I couldn’t not share it with all of you!
Princess Linni and the Moon
I love space. I like stars and planets, learning about all different space travel. As a sci-fi lover, it’s not surprising (nor is it surprising if you know my fiction). I also have a deep love of photographing the moon. It’s mysterious, bright, and familiar. This piece is a bit about that. Enjoy this extra-long piece for this month’s fiction piece!
Deviance
It’s been a wild few months for me! I started getting a little stir crazy and started volunteering a couple days a week at a horse rescue near me. It’s been really good to get outside semi-regularly and also work with really big animals. It’s very different from anything I’ve done before and I think it’s great to try new things. But what if you deviate too far from what’s expected with no reason?
